BABES ON TOUR IN SOUTH END!!

A couple of weekends ago myself and Jessie J met up in her home town in Essex! We donned our best leggings and cruised the South End and Leigh on Sea :) I met Jess' hamster Joban and saw the inside of her quaint garden house! It's a magical haven of all things Jess! She bought me a beautiful hair brush with a horse on as well as some fantastic smelly pens! One smelt of pizza and the other one of watermelon! We browsed the sales and got some good bargains! We saw some rather raunchy animal salt and pepper shakers (wish I'd bought a set!) and we collected rocks and sea glass for our fellow dog Rachael. Jess also donned her new galaxy top to match the galaxy nails I did for her :) We ended our day out with chips on the sea front! Splendid!

Nail Wheels 1 & 2

Nailed It! Bows for Lauretta

Lauretta had wanted me to do bow nails for her for quite a while. We finally got around to arranging a good time to do it! It was just as she had finished her last shift at work.
I Wish her lots of luck for her future career!! She's going to whip some Londoners in to shape! :)

Nailed It! White and Pink Leopard

Sarah loved her Leopard nails so much last week that she wanted them again this week! This time she chose white with pink and we both love the result!! The colours just POP!!! :)

LUSH FEST!!!!

This past weekend I've been at Lush Fest with 6 other Lush ladies from Leicester! We all had a fantastic weekend and picked up loads of amazing goodies!!! :) It rained constantly during most of it but Sunday was a bright day when I was free to frolic around the site, get massaged, make my own soap AND check out the new Emotional Brilliance Make Up range, which will be coming in Lush Stores at the end of the month!! :)
* Me, Khia and Princess stayed in a lovely teepee, complete with air beds and bedding! (definite 'glamping'!!)
* I worked in the Hair care tent on the Saturday! It was the most manic tent of them all!!
* We all loved spending our fake lush currency 'oodles' and 'foodles'!!
* There was lots of great Vegan and Veggie food on offer! (I loved the Vegan Porridge made with coconut milk, banana and honey! That kept me going all day!)
* We all wore our wellies during the whole time there! A couple of us even got stuck in the mud!
* We all rode the ferris wheel!
* We mingled with many people from abroad! I'm pretty sure half of the festival crowd came from Lush Japan stores! :)
* The bar tender in the Pub Tent looked like Wolverine and Princess' impression of him made me laugh so dam hard!!
* I came back with shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, oils, soaps, bath products, body scrub, hair treatments, perfume, cream, henna, a mug and a t-shirt!

hello stranger!

all work and no play makes jess a dull girl... well a dull blogger at least. thankfully i have had a small amount of time to do what i do best... shop!

kate and i went bargain hunting in my local charity shops last week, and i found this amazing skirt. for a moment i thought kate and i might have had a mini fashion fall out, as she was fell in love with it too - however it ended up in my hands, and i am very happy indeed. i had the afternoon off work, so as i am want to do on my days off, i wore as many new items of clothing as possible, and ended up in a rather miss-matched state... not that i was bothered!

pictured is my new skirt, courtesy of the sue ryder charity shop and a close up of the polka dotty detail, my new coca-cola t-shirt, from my favourite supermarket sainsbo's (only £8 from the men's section, and i personally think it's much nicer than the river island one i was previously lusting over - and at that price who am i to argue?!), and my new cardigan from h&m - complete with elbow patches! you can also just about see my leggings... i did indeed buy the river island leggings that i mentioned in my last post!

other highlights include coming home from work to find a surprise package from two of the lovely ladies at lush truro and the wonderful ex-lushie letty sunshine. a beautiful card and some yummy sweeties - my parents and i have spent the evening munching away, and the card will be going on my wall later with my growing collection of pretty things.

speaking of sainsbo's and pretty things, i made a little detour to buy a new alarm clock (i erm, may have slept through my alarm a few days ago... luckily i made it to work with literally seconds to go!) and ended up splurging on some notebooks. with patterns like this, how could i resist?

luckily they were buy one get one free, so i actually got four notebooks for £7. hurrah! i also had a little spend on toiletries in boots (loads of bits on three for two - i simply can't resist an offer!) and picked up some soap and glory handcream and some naked starflower body wash, amongst other bits. i was also treated to some handcream by a very kind colleague. it's from waitrose, and is made from pomegranate and acacia honey and it smells divine! to top that off i also got a GORGEOUS totally caps-worthy lipbalm free with glamour  - to be honest i was more interested in the lipbalm than i was the magazine. it's made by balance me and it contains rose otto and geranium and it smells and tastes amazing. it usually sells for £12, so getting it for £2/free with glamour was a total bargain! i am one very happy bunny.

and last but certainly not least, to top all that off, the shoes i have been obsessively searching for since i saw them advertised in company magazine finally came into stock in river island - and they are now mine! check out my new babies - i am so in love:

Nailed It! Yellow and Green Leopard

I'm always satisfied with a good set of leopard print nails! It's one of the easier designs to do on both hands yourself :)

This time I jazzed it up with yellow and green! There are endless colour combinations to do with this one!! :)

Nailed It! Galaxy

For myself this week I tried out Galaxy nails!

I used black as a base and then three metallicy shades (I used a purple, blue and greeny gold).
I sponged the three colours diagonally across the black using an eye make-up applicator to make the effect and then once dry I applied a layer of silver glitter for the starry effect and then sealed it all with a top coat.

Nailed It! Nude Leopard and Pastel bows

I'm starting to paint more and more nails that aren't my own! :)

This week I did Nude Leopard Print nails for James' sister Sarah, and as I wanted to practice my bows again, Sarah's friend Sophie let me do it on her, using a range of pastel background colours.

Strawberry Sunday!

Today Donna, Ella and I went to Wymeswold Fruit Farm to pick our own strawberries!

We nibbled many whilst picking!

I had nails suited to the occasion!

Donna and Ella having a fruitful fun time!

We turned most of our strawberries into lots of jars of lovely strawberry jam!

Donna made some scones and we all enjoyed them with some of the jam and cream!

SPLENDID!!! :)

Illustrating Mates! Aimee

You can find out more about Aimee, and check out her blog here

And she's used my Illustration on her About section :)

Nailed It! Strawberries

This week I've given myself strawberry nails! I tried out my new dotting tools that I bought off Ebay for the little yellow dots.

James' two year old niece saw my nails and said that she wanted to have strawberry nails to. I can't said no to a kid who says "peeeeeeeeeeease" so cutely! :)
She kept her hands perfectly still for me whilst I did them for her.
Once I'd finished she then kept asking "are they dry yet??"...."are they dry now??"
Now she's saying to everyone "look at my strawberry nails!"

Illustrating Mates!

Yesterday I drew up and Photoshopped two more Illustrations in an effort to get myself back in to drawing and to learn more about Photoshop as I go.

This first one is of the elegantly lovely Burlesque performer Eliza Delite. British winner at the World Burlesque Games 2012.

This second one is of Princess. I used the colours of the Ghana flag for her background. When I showed her she joked and said that she was "the black star in the middle!".

Princess has her own label 'Alchemy Love', where she makes and sells purses, bags and pillow cases.
You can view her Facebook page here

Nailed Daisies for my Mum!

My Mum had seen my daisy nails from a few weeks back and wanted them herself so when I stayed at hers this past weekend, I did them for her :)

She could only have them painted for the weekend, as she isn't allowed painted nails at work.

My Week In Photos

* Drooled over the new fruity lunch box tin gift set from LUSH. I will get one before they go!! The tin will be perfect for keeping all my nail bits in!! :)
* Hung out with Miss Emily and took her for her very first Yo! Sushi experience. She blooming loved it!! I had chicken sushi, she had teriyaki salmon and lots of miso soup! yum!! We then browsed around Topshop!
* Some quite time at work resulted in me doodling my own hands. I then played around with it on Photoshop. Think I'll get back in to doing more frequent illustrations.
* Went home via St Pancras station. It's my favourite station in London! (probably because it can lead you out of the country to!! always tempting to hop on a train to France!)
* Bought Marie Claire Magazine (the free Ciate nail polish tempted me!!) and flicked through it on the train to Croydon.
* Stayed with my Mum for the weekend :) Lovely to see her!
* Took my Mum for her first Yo! Sushi experience and she blooming loved it to!! :) We both had katsu curries, dumplings, miso soup and chocolate mochi balls! :)
* I bought some more nail polishes and a nail art pen because of all the offers going on at Boots! With Barry M it was 'spend over £6 and get a free retro Barry M polish', so I got the new pink chameleon colour change polish, the new silvery lilac metallic and got the coral retro for free. With Models Own it was 'buy one get one half price' so I bought a yellow Wah Nail Art pen and got a jade green polish half price. I then got a No7 voucher so I bought a gold nail polish with that! :)
* I bought a new Aztec vest top from Dorothy Perkins for my holidays and Sziget Festival! :) I also got 2 other tops. My Mum bought me a sheer skull print vest from New Look and I bought a plain dark grey one from Topshop.
* Mum bought us some cookie dough Ben & Jerry's so we ate some of that with some strawberries and watched 27 Dresses.
* Mum showed me some old photos of me and my little broski Rory as wee little kiddies!
* I met my old school friend Aimee for Coffee. She has a very cute wee boy now who loves to wriggle when you hold him! :)
* I liked how I got a little smiley face on my cup :) The lady who served me had just complimented my nail art :)
* After coffee Aimee and I both went to Boots where I couldn't resist the urge to buy more nail polishes! (yes I'm an addict!!). I bought the Models Own Hedkandi neon Orange, a pink WAH Nail Art pen, and another No7 Polish (bought with a voucher again! They just keep dishing them out!!).
